Aberdeenshire: Farm locked down after mad cow disease found

A case of BSE, also known as mad cow disease, has been confirmed on a farm in Aberdeenshire, the Scottish government has said.

Precautionary movement restrictions have been put in place at the farm, while further investigations are carried out to identify the origin of the disease.

A statement from the Scottish government has said this is standard procedure for a confirmed case of classical BSE, “which does not represent a threat to human health”.
