Huge fire in Orpington, London after bus garage explosion

A large fire has broken out at a bus depot in south east London with some people in the area reporting explosions. There are currently around 60 firefighters tackling the blaze in Orpington with 11 buses alight, London Fire Brigade said. Witnesses said that they heard explosions at around 4am this morning at the depot.

The fire brigade are urging people to stay away from the area which has become engulfed in thick smoke. They said they received around 40 calls to the incident on Farnborough Hill, the first of which came in at 3.36am.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
