India: Police seize IEDs, Maoist literature in Kothagudem forests, Telangana

The police have seized improvised explosive devices (IEDs), revolutionary literature, kit bags and other material at a Maoist camp in the forests of Neeladri Pet hillock in the district.

According to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt the police had received information that four teams of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) had entered into Bhadradri Kothagudem, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulug districts from neighbouring Chhattisgarh state.

Following the information the police launched search operations in the forests of Manuguru, Edulla Bayyaram, Gundala and Karakagudem in the district. “During the combing operation nearly seven Maoists ran away after spotting the police leaving behind the material,” he said.
