US company tasked to secure three Libyan airports

The US-based Culmen International, a leader in international security, logistics and technology solutions company announced Thursday that it had been awarded a grant to implement the Libya Airport and Aviation Security Program in three airports.

The company, operating in in over 100 countries on six continents, said the grant was given by the US Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism (CT).

According to the company, it will be responsible for increasing Libyan airports’ security, their capacity to monitor terrorist threats, screen against terrorist transit, and develop standard operating procedures to mitigate such threats at three key airports through assessments, equipment procurement, training, and the development of a national aviation security strategy.
