Radioactive isotopes found following Russia rocket explosion


Radioactive isotopes have been discovered by Russia’s state weather agency following the explosion of a rocket engine.

Five nuclear scientists were killed and three others injured in an accident earlier this month during a missile test at a military site in northern Russia, according to the country’s state nuclear agency Rosatom.

Rosatom initially refused to say whether there had been a release of radiation as a result of the accident but a few days later villagers from nearby Nyonoksa were urged to leave while tests were carried out.
