Terrorist attacks prevented in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan’s National Security Committee suppressed activity of three radical groups in West Kazakhstan and Aktobe regions which planned terrorist attacks in the places of mass gathering and attacks on law enforcement officers, the committee reported on Aug. 31.

Police found firearms and ammunition, TNT, an improvised explosive device, knives, printed texts and audios with extremist content, attributes of the international terrorist organizations in the houses of the members of the groups.

As much as 21 persons have been arrested. The investigation is underway.
