The borders are very vast and there is a key importance in monitoring these large borders with the latest border surveillance systems. Turkey is the first destination for many displaced civilians from war-torn countries trying to reach the European Union and provides an interesting case study as to how the authorities in Turkey and neighbouring nations deal with the large number of migrants.
In October the new Istanbul Airport opened its doors and is now the main gateway into Europe for Asian airlines and passengers. It is believed that the new airport will be the busiest connecting flights airport in the world.
