Officers are on the tail and sniffing out their latest most wanted – but this time it’s not a criminal they’re after.
West Yorkshire Police are on the lookout for some four-legged recruits, and are turning to dog owners among the public in an appeal.
The Force announced they were looking for six dogs to join the team and help them fight crime, sniff out drugs and assist the explosives detection team.
They have issued the appeal at a time of year when, traditionally, there are also plenty of dogs abandoned or taken to shelters and would need rehoming.
Four pooches are needed for training to find drugs, and two to sniff out potential explosives.
